My love of hair started very young. Seasoned among a hairstylist mom with all her beauty school mannequins & tools to play with and surrounded by family owned & operated salons for my growing years, you could say hair has been deeply woven into my story.
In the years that followed I had the privilege to experience a bit of it all, while friends & family came to brave my make-shift salon in my basement ‘experimenting’ on varying cuts & colors. Attending cosmetology school was a lift off into saying yes to making a professional career out of hair – one thousand times, yes. Since 2003, I’ve been fortunate to build incredible and supportive clientele and watch my chair come full circle – from a young girl getting her haircut, to her wedding day updo, to her own little girl seated in my chair – these are the moments I cherish as a hairstylist. These are the woven strands building up more than a career, but a lifelong passion.
Matthew and I welcomed our first baby, Holland, prematurely at the start of an uncertain pandemic in 2020. It led me to stay home full time with our new little boy, perhaps longer than planned, but this time was precious and I knew that I wanted to be present and soak in everything this ‘new mom’ life has to offer. I am so incredibly grateful for the patience of my clientele and their understanding. Time is an irreplaceable gift and one I wanted to savor. Now, I’m excited to be back behind my chair part-time to catch up with some great friends and meet some new ones!
Matthew, Holland, and I love spending our free time at our cabin on Wolf Lake, chasing our Samoyeds Juno & Aella, camping, working on the ever-steady projects that come with a home & cabin, and just enjoying the life unfolding in front of me right now! Truly, the years of nurturing this passion of mine have paved a beautiful way and allowed me to be ever present with those I love.
